There are also some other cards that don't have the errata like Chromatic Sphere and Millikin. In particular, if you're searching your library for something and use the occasion to play a Panglacial Wurm, the fact that you're in the middle of a search means you can obviously see what your top card is at least, and when you open the window for mana abilities that might help you pay for the Wurm, you will know if it's a good idea to take the card draw you get by using Selvala's ability. Other cards that produce unknown amounts of mana, such as Rhystic Cave or Charmed Pendant, have errata that limits you to using them "only time you can cast an instant", rather than during the special "mana ability windows" that sometimes open up, but Selvala has never undergone the same treatment for some bewildering reason.
